Faculty of Academic & Career Preparation

Welcome to the Faculty of Academic & Career Preparation, the front door of Kwantlen Polytechnic University for many students. We welcome learners of all ages and backgrounds into our developmental offerings in English Upgrading, Access Programs, and English Language Studies. In all cases our aim is to help learners move from where they are to where they want to be, whether it is to develop language skills, pick up a needed high school credit, complete courses on the Pathway to Undergraduate Studies for entrance to university, identify a potential future workplace, or develop great workplace skills through hands-on work experience. In addition, the Faculty of Academic & Career Preparation is home to The Learning Centres, where any KPU student can find supports for their learning.

KPU is a teaching-focused university where we strive to create a student-centered learning environment. Our teaching faculty are renowned for their supportive approach and innovative learning facilitation. Unlike larger universities, we keep our classes small so that you have the opportunity to work directly with faculty and fellow learners. Our small classes encourage teamwork and engagement while you're in the program, and help create a network of friends on campus.
