Associate of Arts Degree in Music

The Associate of Arts Degree in Music is designed to provide a broad educational experience that prepares students for further study in the field of music and the arts. This degree does not include private music lessons (e.g. MUSI 1105, MUSI 1155MUSI 1156, MUSI 1157, etc.)

In addition to submitting a general application to the university, those wishing to apply for the music program must also submit a Music Applicant Information Form and arrange for two reference letters. For details, please visit

Note: First semester music courses require students in the Associate Degree to obtain permission to register. Admission Requirements

The Faculty's Admission Requirements, which consist of KPU's undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement, apply to this program.

Curricular Requirements

Within the framework of the Associate of Arts Degree students are required to complete at least 32 credits of MUSI courses at the 1100- and 2000-level, with a minimum grade of C in each course, including the following courses.

Credential Awarded

Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to receive an Associate of Arts Degree in Music.
