Minor in Sociology

Description

The Bachelor of Arts Minor in Sociology program is a versatile and valuable accompaniment to a major or minor degree in the arts, sciences, business, technology, or health-related fields. Because sociology covers a wide range of subject areas, it complements and broadens students’ perspectives and understandings of subjects covered in many other disciplines. The BA Minor in Sociology program aims to familiarize students with sociological theories and research methods, expose them to some of the main sub-fields in sociology, and enable them to explore a variety of social issues and strategies for social change in local and global contexts. Students are offered opportunities for engaging in hands-on learning activities, primary research projects, experiential and community-based learning, and community service work.
